WELCOME TO NIT
National Institute of Transportation (NIT) was established in 1991 at Risalpur and became a constituent institute of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) through an Act of Parliament. NIT remains committed to its prime responsibility of imparting advance higher education and providing a platform for Research and Development (R&D) in core civil engineering disciplines. The institute provides an integrated teaching and research facility at postgraduate level leading to award of MS /PhD degrees in the fields of Transportation, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Bilal Khurshid
PRINCIPAL NIT
On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students of the National Institute of Transportation (NIT), NUST, I extend whole-hearted greetings and a warm welcome. To me, it is both a privilege and an honor to be associated with this premier, esteemed and the only postgraduate institute of Pakistan, which has been actively contributing to teaching, research, and innovation in the core Civil Engineering fields including Transportation, Geotechnical, and Structural Engineering for decades. As the Principal and Dean of NIT, I take enormous pride in our continuing practice to impart experience-based engineering education and lead cutting-edge research since our foundation in 1991. The postgraduate Civil Engineering programs at NIT have been our traits. These programs are designed to build and expand the relevant engineering knowledge as well as the intellectual and creative capabilities of the students equipping them to resolve the dynamic challenges in the Civil Engineering fields in a proactive fashion with innovation and intellectual novelty.
