WELCOME TO NIT
National Institute of Transportation (NIT) was established in 1991 at Risalpur and became a constituent institute of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) through an Act of Parliament. NIT remains committed to its prime responsibility of imparting advance higher education and providing a platform for Research and Development (R&D) in core civil engineering disciplines. The institute provides an integrated teaching and research facility at postgraduate level leading to award of MS /PhD degrees in the fields of Transportation, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering.

On behalf of all our faculty, staff and students, greetings and welcome to the National Institute of Transportation! It is both an honor and a privilege to be a part of National Institute of Transportation – the national engineering postgraduate-only institute that has been around for decades. Presently, it is an exciting time of revival and development within the institute, as it is commencing its inaugural semester after relocation to Risalpur. As Principal / Dean of the institute, I’m extremely proud of the rich tradition of providing practical, experience-based engineering education that our institute has upheld since its founding in 1991.
