Both NUST and the National Institute of Transportation (NIT) proudly congratulate Dr. Numan Ahmad, Assistant Professor and HoD (Research), for being named a 2024 Top Scholar by ScholarGPS, an international platform recognizing outstanding academic performance across disciplines. In the ranking issued this year, Dr. Numan has been ranked among the top 0.5% of scholars globally, with a #117 ranking in the “Accident” research category over the past five years – a remarkable acknowledgment of his sustained impact in the field of transportation safety and engineering. Dr. Numan’s contributions span 22 peer-reviewed journal publications and 23 papers presented at the prestigious Transportation Research Board (TRB) by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in Washington D.C., with his work being cited 472 times worldwide to date. His research focuses on road safety (including vulnerable road users), naturalistic driving behavior and performance, sustainable and smart mobility (ACES: Automated, Connected, Electric, and Shared Vehicles), transport planning, and health-oriented transportation systems.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Numan was awarded a Traffic Safety Scholarship at the 37th Annual National Lifesavers Conference on Highway Safety Priorities in Louisville, KY, U.S. (2019) – a globally competitive honor recognizing the top 50 safety scholars in the U.S., accompanied by a $1,000 award.

As a committed academician and researcher, Dr. Numan continues to inspire through both his scholarly contributions and leadership in academic events, workshops, and postgraduate education.
