Notably, he secured financial support for his doctoral research from both the Australian Research Council and the UTS Transport Research Centre. Throughout the course of his Ph.D., Dr. Haq authored and published multiple papers in journals classified as Q1. His research pursuits encompass a range of topics, including internal erosion of embankment dams, seepage phenomena, stability analysis, and mud pumping associated with railroads. Recognition of Dr. Haq's scholarly contributions is evident in his nomination for a commendation award for an exceptional doctoral thesis. This honor was bestowed upon him by esteemed external examiners affiliated with California State University, Fullerton, USA, and Pennsylvania State University, USA. In addition, Dr. Haq received the distinguished Bright Spark Lecture Award from the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE). This accolade, conferred in appreciation of his outstanding achievements in Geotechnical Engineering, was granted in recognition of his keynote lecture at the 16th International Conference on Geotechnical Engineering (16ICGE) held in Lahore, Pakistan, on the 7th and 8th of December, 2022. Dr. Haq holds a Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, Thailand His pursuit of academic excellence was further supported by His Majesty (HM) King’s (Thailand) fully funded scholarship for the Master’s Degree. During his tenure at AIT, Dr. Haq received accolades in the form of the Chin Fung Kee and AIT Alumni Association Awards for his outstanding academic performance. Preceding his doctoral and master’s studies, Dr. Haq earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) in Lahore, Pakistan, graduating in 2014 with a CGPA of 3.83/4. His exemplary performance in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering was recognized with the award of a Gold Medal during his undergraduate studies. Adding a practical dimension to his academic journey, Dr. Haq contributed his expertise to the industry for a duration of two years at National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) Pvt. Ltd. His professional engagements included involvement in diverse projects, spanning both small- and large-scale dam initiatives, and encompassing tasks related to the rehabilitation and fortification of the Mangla Dam Reservoir Rim.
