Summary
Dr Muhammad Rizwan National Institute of Transportation, National University of Science and Technology, Risalpur Campus. I graduated as Civil Engineer from Military College of Engineering, Risalpur, Pakistan. After my graduation I was mainly involved in supervision of execution of different civil engineering projects. In 2002 I secured scholarship for MSc leading to PhD through competitive exam. I did my doctorate in earthquake engineering in 2009. My research interest has been performance of structures under dynamic loading. I joined University of Witwatersrand in 2013, as Post Doc Fellow, and worked under Mentorship of Prof Thomas Richard Stacey. During this time, I learnt about rock mass behavior especially under dynamic loading conditions. Recently I have established Structural Dynamic Laboratory in Risalpur. Presently, I am working on performance of confined columns, including bridge piers under dynamic loading. I am also involved in a project to enhance the seismic performance of building structure using various techniques.
